Covered in sharp tiny spines called papillae and as rough as sand paper, the tongue of Africa’s largest cat, is an incredible fleshy organ that can literally lick the skin off you!! Sometimes you can watch a lion using its tongue to lick away at the skin of a dead animal. This removes hair and also tenderizes the meat and in combination with its saliva, is an extremely effective means of assisting to start the digestion process even before the lion has ingested anything. Furthermore the tongue is not only a great device for grooming one another and even removing thorns, but the papillae assist in taking in larger amounts of water when they drink!

Asian Male Elephant in Musth. Musth is a periodic condition in bull (male) elephants characterized by aggressive behavior and accompanied by a large rise in reproductive hormones. Testosterone levels in an elephant in musth can be on average 60 times greater than in the same elephant at other times (in specific individuals these testosterone levels can even reach as much as 140 times the normal). As seen above, Elephants in musth often discharge a thick tar-like secretion called temporin from the temporal ducts on the sides of the head.

The fastest land animal on the planet
It was a cold winter morning in Bandhavgarh forest, we saw a group of Gray Langurs tentatively climbing down from Sal trees to forage for breakfast. The group was on edge as a Chital's warning call for a Tiger was heard 5 minutes ago. While the rest of the group seemed extremely anxious & chaotic, this couple managed to find a quiet moment of solace as if finding comfort in each other.
Chital (Male) also known as Spotted Deer. Major difference between Deer and Antelope species is that Deer shed their Antlers annually while Antelopes grow them for life. In male Chitals, Antlers are “bone horns” that are grown and shed annually. The growing antlers are encased in “velvet,” a highly vascularized, nerve-filled skin covered by short, soft hairs. The blood-engorged, growing antlers are warm to the touch and quite sensitive. Depending on the species, they take up to 150 days to grow, after which the velvet dies and is forcefully removed by rubbing the antlers against branches and small trees. Along with some blood residue, this imparts a brownish colour to the otherwise white antler bone. Antlers finish growing before the mating season and are used as weapons and shields in combat or as display organs in courtship. Normally shed after the mating season,
